Greetings! My name is Cathy Olson, and currently I live in Forest City, Iowa, but will be moving at the end of July because I've accepted a teaching job in Boone, Iowa. Also, I am currently enrolled in a Masters program in Educational Technology through the University of Northern Iowa. I am a mother of three teenagers (well, one is 12, but that is close enough). I have been married for 18 years. I enjoy running 5Ks and 10Ks, reading, technology, and being with family. I am happy and excited to join Classroom 2.0, for I think I will learn much!

Hi, Phil Pretty here in Cartwright, Labrador. I teach JH/SH math/science. I will be moving to Northern Alberta to teach math in September 2010. Does anyone have any recommendations on an Educational Technology Master's degree program by distance?

Hey all!

I'm Shankar. I'm going to be a sophomore in college in just a month from now :)

I've been blogging for over three years, you can take a look at my site here: shankarganesh.com (not trying to promote, but just saying).

I'm in my summer vacations now and I'm working as an intern at Zoho Corp, India.

I joined this community because education is something that runs through my blood. I think the current factory model is broken (like Sir Ken Robinson says) and I want to contribute, at least in small levels, to improve the way students are being taught and treated.

I know this is the right place to talk to people who're shaping the future, and I can't wait to have interactions with the teachers over here.

Hello all...I've been a member awhile and like to think I have 1000s of teacher friends. Currently I am trying social networking to get a small microgrant for summer literacy resources...please vote for me! (www.weareteachers.com microgrant tab--then look for "beat the summer slide"...click on vote, then in the "search applicants" box, type LAURA KING. I'm on the page...second one down. Just follow the directions...WOW, if I could get this little grant, I will know that social networking between teachers is not only fun, educational, supportive...but it actually gets you some money. As our district struggles more and more with the financial crunches, as well as the increasing expectations, I think it is important to expand our resources and be creative. '

Anyone out there ever received a social networking grant? I have found all the vote recruting a little tiring, but each time I see my totals go up, I get pretty excited!!
