We have students from different countries in our school, and we would like to know if you have any good strategies or url links for achieving academic success using web 2.0 tools. I would also like to get input on successful parental involvement in school.

Check out this site. It has tons of web 2.0 tools that this teacher uses with his ELL students.
Thanks Marie for the link! I will check into that.
I teach ELD (aka ESL) at the high school level and am also an ELD coach for content teachers to help them meet the needs of ESL kids in their classes.

I am presently introducing my students to GOOGLE DOCS because it will make it easier to do group writing and is eco-friendly (no paper). It is a first time for both the students and myself, but we are enjoying the experience:) The first big "hurdle" was opening up email addresses. I assumed that they knew how to create them and quickly found out that they didn't. I will know better next school year:)

I also have a website with safe websites for students to explore. This is given to parents in the course syllabus at the start of the school year so that parents can see what tools I will be working with during the year.
