Short Session Description (one line): A Discussion of Follett Software's Aspen SI and Curriculum and Learning functionality.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): In this session we'll be talking about Student Information Systems and how they are evolving into time-saving classroom tools that can help teachers and administrators in just about everything they do. While most districts have a SIS these days that includes a gradebook, but most educators use them to track and report data and alignments to standards. However, today's educators use them to track and report data and align assignments to standards. However, today's educators need more from their Student Information Systems and some new programs, like Follett's Aspen, can help them save time and create a better learning experience for students.

Hi Folks,

I used edu20.org as my learning portal last school year. I thought it was wonderful, but I have no perspective whatsoever. I liked the fact that it had so many features for free (I didn't even use most of them). My favorites were:

- Walled Community

- "internal" student email addresses

- Interactive grading rubrics

- Self grading quizzes.

Please reply here or privately if this piques your interest. There's been a lot of positive interest recently and am trying to decide if this warrants a webinar on the topic.
Thanks!
I know this has been done in some form before - but things change and I'm wondering what other members would recommend for signing up a class and creating a low level social networking community along with the ability to "grade" participation. A kind of basic LMS (Learning Management System).

Also, something that is totally online - unlike moodle , atutor, blackboard which require set up.

Thanks in advance,
