I'm conducting a study on the use of tablets, and more specifically iPads, as an educational tool. The reason for this study is two fold. Firstly I have been given an ipad as part of my PGCE course, with seemingly little thought on its actual use, and secondly because I have a group of PE students who were given iPads as part of their course. If anyone has experience of using them as an educational tool I would be interested in hearing your experiences and suggestions.

I love using Learn Central which is a social learning network for educators. When I log in I find several interesting public, free, interactive webinars that I would like to participate in when they are live at some point in the future. My challenge is remembering the exact time they will be shown. Would anyone know of an application I can use that will send a reminder to me that would automatically pop up on whatever computer I am using?

A teacher is looking to upgrade his elementary level school newspaper. Any applications out there that will do this well or easily? In the past the teacher has used Pages, but is now looking to see if there is anything superior. Thanks 2.0

Good afternoon!
I'm the IT director, so not into the instructional side so much. I'm asking for help for my teachers.
I have just received funding to make portions of my school campuses wireless. I have the ability to give guest access to the Internet and secure access to students and faculty.
What I'd like is suggestions on how to use wireless either in the classroom or in common areas using laptops, pdas, etc., to enhance instruction/learning. Like I said, I'm from the technology side and am…

What I'd like is suggestions on how to use wireless either in the classroom or in common areas using laptops, pdas, etc., to enhance instruction/learning. Like I said, I'm from the technology side and am searching for a way to make this a great surprise for the teachers and kids when they get back, but I need suggestions so they'll use it rather than letting it sit idle.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
