I am involved in professional development works for teachers in the area of educational technology. What I found to be a common issue (from practice and the literature) is that after workshop or training, teachers claimed that although the sessions were informative and good, they were not able to translate what they have learnt into practice. Often I get 'How do I use it for my subject (i.e English or Maths or Science, etc). Point is, as I am not the content expert, I am not able to hold any workshop or training that is subject specific. Also, as educational tools are only tools, every educators will have differing strategies (even in teaching the same topic). I would appreciate if anyone could share on the followings:

How could I conduct a PD (workshops/trainings) on any ICT tools that teachers will find its relevance uses in their practice?

I like to try another method. I thought that even if I have some agendas with regards to the workshops/trainings that I will be delivering, I'd like to start with asking teachers on how they want the sessions to be conducted (i.e how best should the session be conducted so that they will benefit most out of it). Anyone tried this before? Do you think this will be a better approach?

2nd point

Have anyone used the interactive whiteboard before? Pls share on how you have used it (and also if there are any issues).

Thank you much in anticipation!

Rgds

Hello all,

I am looking for recent programs focused on providing professional development to district administrative teams (Principals and APs). Particularly, I am looking for curriculum ideas, success stories, phases, what works/does not work, etc...

Working with a district that has just purchased a large amount of technology and feels (rightfully so) that the administrators need to be well versed in appropriate use, available tools, etc, so that they can properly assess its use in the…

We are looking for a way to celebrate and share our end of the year Professional Development journey. Our staff has spent the year in their professional learning communities working on SMART goals, creating common assessments, etc. We are looking to have a final PD session where staff can share what they have accomplished this year. Any ideas? Have a blog post that would help? Here are 2 links I have found so far. Thanks in advance!…

I am finding it may be difficult to put into words what is right or wrong with professional development and 21st century skills. Please take a moment to complete this 6 question, anonymus survey.

The data will be used in a graduate research paper for Walden University.

I want to thank those folks that particpated, but I need more from my network. Please Help!
I am hoping one outcome is a growing academic faith in the professional network.
Thanks for your help.
